I always heard it pronouced "Jiu-jarro" kind of like "jiu-jitsu".

I'm sure you're right, but its probably one of those things, where you say it really fast and it ends up getting slurred over.

haha. I always thought it looked funny though for the way it sounds. One other word i had problems with was the Alfa Romeo "Giulia". It just looks clumsy. But its pronounced like "Julia Roberts".

Speaking of Julia Roberts, have you guys seen that movie Closer? It was just released in the states, but takes place in London, so i was wondering if you guys were shown it. Its really good. Not for the faint of heart though as far as the language goes. Its pretty crude. But I LOVE Natalie Portman, so the movie was great for me!

I'm thinking Gi-oo-ji-aro (the ji with a very soft j). Is that about right?

i'd bet my grandmother's teeth on it. with 100% certainty: soft Gs. pronounce every vowel. twirl the R. consider yourself italian.
