My car is in having a stack of work done and this is a request if anyone has any spare parts of know of anyone who has that they perhaps may sell to me. When this is all done I'll have the Kemp head in and a rebuilt engine, so all is good (if not quite expensive!)

I need potentially:

Output shaft oil seals gearbox

Engine mounts

Cooling fans and radiator

Steering rack

Front discs and pads

Front wheel bearings

Light pods (mainly the bushes etc which connect them to the body)

Air box

N/s filler cap Cable

Rear Caliper

Crank

Crank bearings

Piston rings

Gaskets

Cambelt & tensioner

Water pump

Liners

I can get hold of all this stuff but if anyone knows of cheap sources of has spares they wish to offload, please let me know :)

Also, this means that my engine is going to be in pieces, so if you can think of anything else that perhaps would be good to have done at this time, post away!

I've got an upgraded PUK clutch going in, tubular manifold and have sourced a turbo flywheel, but now is a good time to upgrade anything else if it's a good idea!

lotus bits chap at stoneleigh had some shagged second hand rear calipers for a ton a pair, but frankly, looking at the state of em, i would have left them at the bootom of the muddy ditch they probably came from. Ive just rebuilt mine, and it aint rocket science. whats up with yours? got any renault 25's in the scrapyards near you?

also, southwest lotus guys had elan M100 light pod actuator arms, which are longer (or shorter, cant remember now) than esprit ones, but they had the vital new rod end bearings on them, LH/RH, as complete assemblies for a fiver a pop. just wanged a set on my car, and the wobbling is less, but the main problem seems to be the underneath of the actual fibreglass pod moulding (where the operating arm bracket attaches) is just too damn thin and wobbly. I'm in the process of making some strengthening plates out of anodised aluminium to stop the panel flopping about when the lights are up. shouldnt be too difficult. does yours wobble from the pod mounts as well?

south west lotus had new cranks for 200 at the show too. but there 700 ish when u phone em up direct. show offers only they say.

cant Garry sort you out with the other engine bits, or have you already asked. he has quite a stash.

fans are easy from a scrapyard arent they. fiesta mk2 iirc.

I got a recon/swap caliper from SW Lotus last year and it's never been able to hold tension on the handbrake from more than a week. I've had both the cables replaced but I think I've had the caliper too long to take back now.

Pods are very loose, I've got new acuator arms which are going on but the fixings of the actual pods on the sides are knackered.

Kempy may have a crank, I've asked him about a few parts and he's got the flywheel being prepped for me and thanks for the headsup on the fans, I've been quoted over

LMFAO!!!! Whoosh Flutter! :)

I remember seeing filler cap cables as new old stock popping up on ebay a lot (may have been stateside too couldn't say)

Errr pistons and liners = Kempey surely? Or has he sold out :)

I am fairly sure your car still has the same brakes setup as mine / the HC ......SW are now the people in posession of teh 45 minute White Esprit salvage so will have LOTS of spares knocking about atm. Try them for bits of that?

Geoff sourced my steering rack brand spanking new and it feels Lurvely!

Air Box?!?!! :)

Bibs,

I thought you had your engine rebuilt a while back.  Is it being done again?

The PO had new pistons and liners just before I bought it 3 years ago so I might not need them.

Fishy, the airbox clips have snapped off so I need a new one.
