Given the Toyota tie up, may be better to do the Lotus Corolla - officially the most boring car in the world in Toyota trim - so a real test to create a "real" Lotus from that.

My vote would be to Mazda-Lotus 6 ... put the poxy MazdaSpeed to shame ... or Ford-Lotus Mustang, with actual real proper handling added !

What about linking up with one of the world rally heavyweights like Mitsubishi or Subaru? Could be a backdoor way into competition and the kudos that brings.
