Anyone from here will be attending the Lotus Concours on Sunday in Melbourne?

Although I did except an offer on the house yesterday - so that could put me back in OZ around Feb. Only 8 months behind schedule...

Of course we're going to need lots of pics from the day.

27 cars so far confirmed for the concourse.

I came 2nd, supposedly in a very close decision.

I am not a sore loser, but it was bullcrap.

There was a '99 V8 that I thought for sure would win. I looked that car in and out, and it did not have a scratch anywhere on it (mine has a 1cm hair scratch at the bottom of the rear wheel arch). It placed below me??!!

The one that won was a red S4s, that had a smash at the front and the lights were installed wrong, the leather was worn, it had scratches everywhere and it looked like it desperately needed a polish job. Forget about all the swirl marks as well...

When I saw it, I dismissed it instantly, yet it won?

Forget about that amazingly conditioned V8, but what about the mint Seven's or the few Elises that were in showroom condition? Deeply political I suspect...

Oh yeah, the 'judges' didn't even look inside my engine bay (spent a whole day detailing it) or even bothered to open the doors to look inside the car (another day spent making the interior looking new)...

Like I said, if I would have lost fair and square, I would have had no problem at all, but this way it was just wrong.

Ahh - You See. Judges always prefer flashy red cars.

At least you got to see some other Esprits.

Where exactly in Melbourne did they hold it ?? Did they get much of a crowd, or was it hidden away somewhere ??
