Err, probably obvious, but have you checked the inertia switch in the engine bay?

Mine tripped once when replacing the engine cover!

Thanks for the swift response - checked it already. It certainly appears to be the immobiliser

Mike

Try Ian Garrett at Nick Whales. When i had a problem on my GT3 (same alarm as the v8) NW got some local chappies in Brum involved that they'd used before. Can't remeber the name, but i'm sure Ian will. Also, they should be local enough to get down to pershore. The cobra is a generic item, not lotus specific so any cobra specialist should be able to sort it.

BTW - there was a chappie at stoneleigh with the remnants of a crashed v8 (black) i didn't get his details, but i did notice he had the control boxes and wiring for a cobra alarm? Did anyone else get his number??

Another obvious, but have you tried the alarm black stick thingy (not the fob) in its socket beside the fuel filler release? Or the alarm fuses, C2 and A17?

Other than that you'll probably need someone to hook up to the alarm ALDL port. And if you can find someone local as Rob suggests, they'll hopefully come to you.

May: DON'T hit it with a hammer!

Clarkson: Why?

May: Cause it's the tool of a pikey.

Problem solved!

The Alarm had a fault which was diagnosed by a Cobra specialist. The unit has been replaced with a non-Cobra system.

I was told that Cobra (as was) are no longer trading and that the brand has been aquired by another alarm manufacturer?....
