preparation needs work. the crust is nondistinct and lacks a grill pattern. and the demiglace is too runny, making for a mushy plate halfway through the course. 2 stars.

Actually Mike since I have been here, I really miss a nice Steak and Kidney Pie and Chips wrapped in newspaper

and Walkers Smokey Bacon Crisps, Mars Bars, Angel cake, Dandelion and Burdock, R .Wights Lemonade, Ansells Bitter and Hienz Baked Beans

so have i, but only when i'm obliged as a guest.

a filet doesn't have much flavor, so how it looks is crucial. the appeal of that particular cut is the delicate texture, so serving it with lumpy potatoes probably isn't the best complement.

Your right, I HATE lumpy mash too. I always put the boiled potatoes through a potato ricer and add to butter and garlic.

when it's really smooth, you can pipe it out of a pastry bag with a star tip. it looks like whipped cream. then you put it under the broiler and brown the tips. lovely.
