Front Lip Spoiler

why is it that some esprit post my99 doesn't have a front lip. I thought they all did past 99 or is that an option?

Or maybe those other cars post the S350 had it as standard too?

It's commonly called the S350 lip. I think they were all fitted post 2002 (the last rendition of the Esprit). Some people fit them aftermarket though for the look.

iirc they're supposed to limit the air under the car and provide a different level of downforce, Brian Angus did explain at an Oxford meet but I cannot remember the specifics.

My 1995 S4s has a two piece black lip as standard

It's not totally clear in this pic but you can just make it out

So I don't think it was introduced with the 350 unless you guys are taking about something completely different

Jez,

It is something different. Yours has the s4/s4s/v8 2 piece shaped spoiler that sticks out a little at the front of the car. However if you check out the pictures of the front lip/blip/skirt on the 350's you notice it is very different and is a single piece that I believe just hangs down vertically from the front edge of the bumper. It actually looks quite different up close.

Ps. Anyone know when the s4s got the s4 bumper with the shaped rather than sqaure lights ? Yours is the first i've seen like this. B)

The sport 350 front spoiler and the 2002 on front spoiler are one in the same. They are mad of two pieces of fiberglass and one piece of rubber. I ordered one for my '97. Here is a 2002 model.
