To badge or not to badge.... that is the question?

I have no shame or anything in my Lotus badge and I know that de-badging really was to disguise the idenity of your crappy 1.2L Corsa (etc)

BUT......

It looks so clean without it!

I would put it on personally as I think it's a badge to be proud of (and many other makers would kill for that).

Shame you have painted as you could maybe have recessed it a bit if it offends your eye. What about a smaller one from a steering hub or something?

At last, a picture, it's really happening! Put the badge on definately, otherwise the ignorant herd won't know what it is. You'll get "Is it a Ferrari / TVR 350 / Kit car?"

I'm with Mark on this one Robin.

The badge on the nose gives the car its identity to those who don't recognise the beautiful lines of an Esprit.

I guess it depends on who you wish to impress... If its the pocket rocket chavs then lob the badge on, but if you only wanna impress us fanatics then leave it off cos it does look good without it

Just my 2p worth (which is considerably less than the cost of a new badge )

Its a hard one - I'm proud of the conection / heritage etc but it does look so nice without it! It does still say Lotus on the back but I think for all the little mods that have made it non-standard, the no nose-badge would probably be the one that I think could actually devalue it!

I think the Lotus badge is so desirable that i've peeled the 'fiesta' script 'Lotus' letters off the back of my SE. I plan to get a smooth number plate plinth and have a badge instead (like later models).

Go for a black badge maybe if you wannit different?

Yellow / green, Black, Green. Perhaps a designer badge in Red to go with the Met Silver

A collegue of mine with an 'Orion Ghia' took a ford badge and rubbed the back of it on emery paper til the blue wore off (silver 'ford' stayed as it is deeper in). He then sprayed the back of the badge black - hey presto Black ford badge.

It actually looked good (badge, not car )

Put the badge on, its will look lovely either way. Not only that you won't have to tell people it's not a Countache.

The colour is beautiful, not sure about the 2 inch graphics on the side though

Ive definitely decided to leave off the go faster stripes and the decals / side graphics

Wow, thanks Troy......

I'm thinking around something that essentially looks like the old style black lotus nose badge but entirely of chrome (or as shiny as humanly possible finish) and with the lettering / shapes etched into the surface... I have a very clear image in my mind (which is odd for me - I'm not usually a very visual person!)

It's the old style green badge that I used to have - so this shape but all in chrome and with the outlines of the letters etc etched (yada yada yada)

Ok....... a quick dodgy bit of photoshop later... *KINDA* like this... (except obviously, really shiny!)

...so just the outlines of the letters engraved (it doesn't need the whole lot embossing) and then the line around the outside where teh yellow met the green (I hope that makes some sense?!)
