Newlands Corner Sunday Brekkie, 25 April

Lots of reasons for having another gathering at Newlands Corner: a while since the last one, great weather forecast, cracking bacon sarnies and I need an excuse to go for a hoon this weekend. So, usual informal meet from about 9.00am when the cafe opens. Turn up when you like, we'll probably be there until 10.00/10.30am. Posted up on SELOC too, so expecting some of the local Elises & Exiges to join us.

I'll be taking a fun indirect route from Dorking to NC, starting about 8.15 if anyone wants to join me.

You know the drill ...

What a coincidence! We were at the Ace tonight, talking about trying the Devil's Punchbowl this coming Sunday. But since you've done the honours, Tom, I agree and propose we go for Newland's once again. C'mon guys!

Sue - I've had a quiet word with the chaps in scheduling, and you can now come to Newland's on Sunday!! :)

No need to thank me.

I dare you!! whip.gifpopo.gif

Anyway I have a theory - only you and John have fixed my car since I got it and you never seem to be in the same place at the same time. So own up are you Clark Kent or Superman (as if I need to ask)

Yet again, the devil craps on my cornflakes. Won't be there, chaps - I'll be on my way to PHX to rescue a bunch of stranded passengers!

That's a shame sparky - good luck with the mercy mission. There are 19 people signed up on SELOC so looks like it'll be a big turnout thumbsup.gif

It looks like our contribution to this meet is going up the river in a barbed wire canoe....

Sad to say I've got a better offer. There are in excess of 50 Marcos cars turning up at Bradford on Avon tomorrow and as I have one (and only half a Lotus) divided loyalties, based on ownership, have won out. Additionally, Jem Marsh, one of the companies founders is going to be there celebrating his 80th year!

Have a good morning... looking forward to seeing some pictures in due course.

A nice drive down with Internets, Felix and Dave. Weather wasn't too bad and the sun threatened to come out at one point. Good company as always.

Thanks for posting the pics Chris.

Trevor.

I'll get around to it at some point.

It was a good, if slightly damp morning. Excellent turnout:

We didn't have the carpark to ourselves, though. Wandering up the other end (away from the bacon rolls - booo!) and these fellows were loitering about - lots of Austins braving the drizzle:

It was a nice surprise to see so many Esprits given how few were signed up on here and the drizzly weather smile.gif

One non-Lotus owner even came and moved their car so that we had an unbroken line - must've been 20ish cars

As well as a couple of Caterhams leaving as I turned up, there was another attention-grabbing interloper. Looked like the shape-changing liquid metal machine from Terminator 2:
