Elite for Sale in Oz

This Elite has been for sale forever on this website. I think if they really wanted to sell it they could have advertised it with some better pictures.

The reason I bring it up here however is the bumpers look odd to me. I don't know a lot about Elite bodywork but the bumpers on this car don't seem to match the bodywork.

Any ideas?

Um, Alan, I think Daryl means the S1 Elite 502 viewable in the clickable link rather than the shiny red one in his avatar.....

But, to be fair, that is an 83 Excel so good spot.

My bumpers are fine, I did mean the Elite in the link.

I seen that on Carsales for a couple of months now. Appalling pics and little text - no wonder it hasn't sold yet.

The price has been changed at least 3 times - started @ $18k went to $20k and is now down to $15k.

Looks to have the US spec front and rear bumpers so most likely a LHD conversion, I've seen another LHD conversion for sale in S.A. No under bonnet pics so can't see if it's got the Dellorto or the Stromberg carbies. Also has the front indicator lamps the wrong way around (orange should be on the inside).

Those are Federal (US) spec bumpers with the foam pads removed. The foam tends to crack & separate from the base, so removing the pad is about the only fix. My car has the same horrible things right now, but only until I finish repairing the Euro spec replacements I bought over the winter!

The owner of this Elite in Adelaide is considering selling this Elite, even though it is nearly finished.

That one looks like it has all the makings of a beauty....

It is a VERY pale yellow tho...The lotus yellow is much more vibrant. That one is even paler than mine which is Triumph Mimosa.

Would be nice to see it snapped up and finished.

When I was out visiting the inlaws a few years back I was reading the central coast paper and browsing the small ads and saw something which made me almost fall of my chair. Somone in gosford NSW was advertising a Blue partially dismantled elite. Wanted $6K AUD.

So there are a few of them out there hiding in garages...
