Steering rack

Hi all

I have searched and searched and cannot find any reference to the donor of the Steering rack for my pre 85 Turbo. I am changing it from LHD to RHD and need to replace the rack. It is definately a Ford rack, but is there a diffenence in Escort and Cortina racks?

It's the same case as a ford rack, but the internals are slightly different (quicker) and the arms may be different length to Ford.

I'm doing a big rebuild on my S2, and am going to need a LHD rack (Live in Norway). Any chance of you wanting to sell?

And a question: do you know how many turns from lock to lock on your rack?

If the casing is in fact a quicker version of a Ford, maybe Burton Power would be a place to look?

They have different ratios rack/pinions for different Fords.

Otherwise Lotusbits do have both reconditioned and just "used" racks at reasonable prices.

i ve spare used LHD from SE90, need to be reconditioned, but no idea if fit to older esprits.
