EBC part D213,only showing for Lotus Eclat, Elite and Esprit. They are the pre-Toyota ones, using Triumph type uprights aren't they? If so, I think they were a disc that was probably a special order (even if it's just different hub diameter or hole spacing)

If you have the other dimensions you may be able to find a donor via this link

Sadly the discs on Elites are unique to the car, be wary as the "poverty" Eclat (520) had the same discs/calipers as the Elan +2 and various triumphs, including vittesse, these are often advertised on Ebay and in several partsmanufacturers books as being suitable for the Elite, they aren't! I worked for a large motorfactor for a while and spent many hours sifting through parts catalogues trying to identify the Elite discs, due to current brain fade I cant remember the size for sure...278mm seems to be familiar. As far as I could assertain, EBC and Brake Engineering still list this application. Delphi (formerly Lockheed and Girling) used to be the original supplier, they have now deleted the part number and have no remaining stock.........pain eh?

hope this helps

Try Mike taylor at www.lotusbits.com he lists both new windscreens and brake disks for the Elite and has the facility to carry out all jobs small and large from a service to a full restoration or can just supply the parts you need.

I'd be interested in this as well, as I thought Triumph GT6, Bond Equipe 2000cc discs were the same. I'm only going on what ebay sellers say, but I can't see why Lotus would have used different discs for the Eclat and Elite?. These are only about £50 pr.

Was going to get some to try this week, they can always be returned if not suitable, but my power steering pressure pipe just sprung a leak so that's gotta be fixed first. Wish I could get non-braided, it's the braid breaking that has punctured the inner rubber pipe. It's not due to rubbing, I always use plastic spiral wrapped around, this one lasted since 1998 but the previous one failed the same way (suppose 14 years life 'aint bad tho'). I've heard of braided brake pipes doing this too, much more serious, so I'll never fit braided brake pipes and will suffer the marginally softer pedal that 'ordinary' pipes are said to give.

A quick check on EBDBrakesDirect reveals

Eclat, 245mm diameter, 28mm high, 13mm new and 11mm minimum thickness

SJ lists two discs, one for all models except...... and one (£70 less expensive) for the sprint.

Hi. I got two new discs from PNM Engineering at £45.00 each. They are now fitted with no problems.

Hope this helps.

I'm really pleased I read this post, I was going to order a pair off ebay. This has saved me the bother and cost of having to send them back.

Wonder why Lotus fitted different size discs to the Eclat & Elite?, and what about the disc pads & calipers, are they the same?, and if so are they mounted nearer the hub otherwise the pads would overhang the smaller Eclat disc surely?, or have I missed something fundamental here?

They aren't different...

The discs for most eclats are the same as the elites. It was only the 520 and 520 sprint that came with ford pcd hubs and 2 pot calipers using smaller discs (which i think were ford sourced).

All eclats apart from the 520 use the bigger discs which are fitted to the elite (which I always believed were Triumph GT6...) and the 3 pot calipers.

Some eclat sprints were 521's and came with the bigger brakes. It's not the "sprint" thats definitive for smaller brakes and ford hubs, its the "520". ('tho most sprints were 520's).

Thread resurrection time!

I was just wondering if any cross-matches been found for the larger brake discs from an Eclat (C075J0297F or A075J0297F I believe)? Seems that the cheapest price for them is still found at http://www.paulmattysportscars.co.uk/, but I refuse to believe the discs are unique to Lotus!

Any thoughts, guys?

I did look at that kit, and I had Wilwood brakes and Hawk HP Plus pads on my Evo (loved them, nearly sent me through the windscreen when I braked hard!) but can't justify the cost right now.
