he new-look 2011 Lotus Elise has been formally introduced into the Australian market, boasting a number of enhancements and a new engine, more fuel efficient thanks to the valvematic system.

The Australian market version of the 2011 Lotus Elise facelift will also be offered with the choice of the new 1.6-litre engine, mated to a new six-speed close ratio manual gearbox, that develops 100kW, identical to the previous 1.8-litre engine, at 6800 rpm and 160 Nm of torque 4400 rpm, with the rev limiter kicking in at 7000rpm. The car can sprint up to 100km/h in just 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 204km/h, largely thanks to its 876kg kerb weight.
