I have an original set of carpets that someone on here very kindly sent me - if anyone else would like to use them as a template let me know and I'll pass them on.

Those carpets look nicely done.

I made my own - materials about £60. I'm guessing it took me about 8 hours to do - the edging is very fiddly. It would probably take me half that if I did it again. So, at £40 an hour........

You need some really good quality glue - heat resistant. Mine started lifting after just a couple of months despite having what was touted as high temp contact.

These cost me about £100 for them to get made. I have have these made again if anyone is interested?

I wasn't that bothered with my old boot carpet. Afterall it's only a boot but when I had these made, I was quite impressed. I think the edging makes a difference.

In your experience what glue would you recommend? I've got some of the same black thin cord carpet like I remember you fitted and I've been thinking about either using that Timebond stuff that's like a semi solid gel or some of that spray carpet adhesive. Never thought about needing heat resistant adhesive until I spotted your post.

The heat resistant glue I bought was from Wollies. Just like timebond etc, but still doesnt seem up to the job. I'm on the lookout for some more

Have you tried making them? I find it easy using clear vinyl (1mm or so) from the hardware store. Use a felt pen and initially mark it slightly oversize before your first cut. With the clear vinyl you can get very precise and sometimes better than original.

I have my templates now and the old carpet set is packaged ready for post tomorrow - sorry this took so long, the lotus competes with time vs the house currently.

This weekend I've finally found myself with enough time to replace the carpets in the boot on my S3 which I've been meaning to do faor a couple of months. Job finished so I've got my old ones available as a template just in case someone else finds themselves in the same position as Ian.

I used the same heat resistant glue as Simon in the end, lets hope it does what it says on the tin.

Absolutely no problem my friend, I did try and send you a PM as I remembered you had asked earlier on the thread, but the system rejected the mail as your inbox was full.

I'll post them to you if you need them quickly or I could bring them along at the next Ace Cafe meeting if you are going, I certainly owe you for when you helped me out with the tensioner from your Eclat last year!

PM me if you want them posted.
