So it's a sunny Sunday afternoon, with the Excel out of storage and the fuel pump just fixed, things are going well. Just enough time to put the carpets back in and clean, I popped back into the house for a cup of coffee to be met with "Rob, the Excels on fire!".

Thankful for the fire extinguisher in the kitchen, I rushed outside to be met with black smoke from the rear of the car - only to find that the vacuum cleaner well alight! The vacuum that I had just switched off and left by the rear of the car was in melt down. Pulled away, power disconnected and fire extinguisher in full flow, disaster averted.

No damage to the Excel, only a dead cleaner and an empty extinguisher - and a minor coronary.
