i just cant see why u never sold her last time. maybe you should start at a lower price with your reserve hidden. shes easily worth your price. its very odd selling anything on ebay sometimes. i wish u luck n hope the Elite gets a new owner soon. regards. Dc.

I like to do it with out the games eg £4,500. is the lowest i want to take so one bid buys it. I would like to keep it but too many cars now. It in a nice usable condition, it was serviced at Morland jones in March new cambelt, water pump etc. Steve actually commented on how well it drove.

But anyway if it goes it goes.

well thats more than a fair price if she's as good as the pics. when i was going to sell my Elite S2.2 about a year ago on ebay, i had lots of overseas interest. my cars in overall very good condition, original in every way with 64k on the clock. but far from perfect. im now keeping her and hoping to completely renovate her this year as i know i'll never find another. but from your point of view - i had a guy in Germany offer me £4k then just by looking at my pics. so i stopped the bidding and withdrew from sale. i realised its now time to decide to keep her. It was a young German guy whose dad had owned a number of Esprits and couldnt find an Elite S2.2 in original condition, just S1's with rusty chassis and bad interiors. he acknowledged the Elite was very overlooked and how rare the S2.2 is. it seems overseas car enthusiasts value British sporting cars more than we do in the UK in my experience. but i'd still rather our cars stayed here. DC.

Micha was a poster on the old forums from Germany who owned a few Lotus Elite and Eclats. He had a deeply entrenched hatred of any car with a glass sunroof, and habitually made controversial posts commenting on other members cars that were being advertised saying they were vastly overpriced. This was based on him once being able to buy one with an MOT from the UK for something like £500. He would usually offer his "corrected" valuation, which was invariably around £500.

If there is a guy in Germany who is prepared to pay reasonable money for an Elite, and he really liked glass sunroofs, then he would be the Yin to Micha's Yang....

Micha's hatred of glass sunroofs became a bit of fun legend on the old forum...

...............oh i see. this definately was NOT him then. also i dont have a sun roof on my Elite and do not actually like sunroofs at all on sportscars. ive had plenty of ragtop sportscars n thats the way to go. (i dont like Esprits with glass roofs either). regards. DC.

Looks like i have it for life.

Funny i was driving it the other day just come off the motor way on the slip road thought i'd push it hard going round a corner the level of grip was unbelievable, i was sliding out of the seat but the Elite just kept gripping, these cars are so undervalued.

good to hear it is being used as intended....

If you sold it you'd just want another. Turbo esprits are so overated anyway ....and there are loads of them. When was the last time you saw another elite when you were out for a drive?

If you got in an esprit again, youd find it a pain to get into, a pain to get out of, a swine to service and you'd get so bored of locking the front brakes, it would put you off from pushing hard....

Keep the elite.
