What springs & dampers for a S2.2 Esprit

Recommended Posts

Am sending my S2.2 off to get it roadworthy. It has one broken spring so will need a full set on springs & dampers. What are the options?

I have my name on the wishlist for the Bilstein/Eibach development. What is available for post 85 cars? and could the suspension manufacturer be asked to modify to fit (I have had custom AVOs made for me previously)

Hi Simon,

Your pre 1985 has few options, Factory standard or you could go down the route with with Protech ajustable shocks and springs from SJ SPORTSCARS, The thing with the protechs is there are so many different veiws on them, I myself use them and consider them to be good value for money and give handleing if set up correctly and others have found them good, However there are a lot of people who dont like the ride, and some that say they dont last long.

One thing you can look at is Andrew Hills red s3 esprit on WWW.LOTUSESPRITWORLD.COM look on the G cars owners page, hilly used avos and changed the suspension to acept front ajustables, good mod and worht looking into.

Hope this helps regards danny

simon,

I personally dont think lotus suspension is that expensive, You can fit the car out out as it left the factory,

i.e four shock absorbers and four springs non ajustables, Or fit ajustable shocks and springs x4, Im not sure what the cheapest option is as you will have to ring steve at sj sportscars or look on the website,

Price wise i would of though the standard suspension i.e fitted as it left the factory would be a lot cheaper but it depends what you want i.e have the car origonal spec, cost involved etc, its all down to you what you want.

Regards danny
