Annual Tony K. Car Party -- July 10, 2010

Greetings all,

We're doing it again this year, The Annual "Tony K. Car Party"! And we're hoping to have the most cars yet!

What: A bunch of classic exotic and sports cars and their enthusiastic owners gathering at Tony K's house.

When: Saturday, July 10, 2010. From some time around noon or 1pm through as late as people want to party.

Where: Our home in Toledo, Ohio -- PM me for address and phone. If the attendee list gets too large, we may move it to a near by location courtesy of a fellow Esprit owner attendee in the neighborhood.

Why: Meet people, talk about cars, have fun, eat food, go for a drive, have fun.

Who: You, your significant other, and (hopefully) your car.

Rumor has it that there will be at least three Lotus Forum members attending, two of them from the east coast, vying for the coveted Longest Distance Traveled award. I'd love to see more TLFers!

For those interested in attending but unfamiliar, the schedule goes something like this:

SCHEDULE

Noon - 1pm: Cars arrive, are parked in our back yard like a mini-concours

1:30 - 4pm: Eat, drink, socialize, be merry. At some point, people vote for "Best of Show," "Crowd Favorite," and "Ladies Choice (Probably a Jaguar)" awards.

4pm or thereabouts: Awards, including such highly contested prizes as "Almost Legal," "Any Which Way You Can," "Looooongest Distance," "Triple-A Abuse," "Carpe Diem," "Friends of OPEC," and more!

At that point, some people go home, while others stick around to go for a drive..

5pm - 6:30 or thereabouts: Drive, hopefully scenic and twisty, probably with some destination for refreshments.

Afterhours: A group of people always stay late and we consume beverages that have famously graced the livery of racing automobiles throughout the years.

Things to note:

- Patty and I provide all of the food, drink, and refreshments. It is all high quality stuff -- no fillers, chemicals, trans fats, ingredients you can't pronounce, etc. Special requests are welcome in advance. You just bring yourselves, your cars, and a readiness to have a good time.

- We are happy to accommodate at least four guests overnight with beds and couches, more if I actually get the interior back in my white S1. Additional space for more people can be made.

- PLEASE let me know if you will be attending; we need a accurate a count as possible both for food and for space/planning!

- Cars that attended the last two years included classic Lotus, Maserati, Ferrari, Jaguar, Triumph, Ford GT, BMW, Porsche, DeLorean, and more. Expect a similar mix this year! So far, we're expecting 20-25 cars . . . .

Flights are a bit pricey Tony but I did check and if they were cheaper I'd have loved to come

A reminder, though, to anyone who was close enough to drive to Tony's: yer close enough to drive to this one! Last year we had a very good showing from the Lotuses, over 100 I think.
