Hello all,

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but what brake pads are best for an Esprit S1/S2? My pads are ok but old and i'de like to fit the best available bearing in mind the car is driven fairly quickly but not for track days etc

I agree with Steve. I have the green stuff fitted and the only improvement is slightly less brake dust. There was also a thread somewhere where I was told the green stuff pads offer little benefit for our cars due to their lightness and the fact that for road use the pads rarely get up to their optimum operating temperature. Once mine wear out, I'm going back to originals.

Thanks for the replies, seems like standard pads will do the job ok. I would still like to improve the brakes though, they stop the car ok but are poor by modern standards, i see PNM sell a 4 pot caliper and vented discs for four hundred pounds, can anyone recomend this kit or have any experience with it?

I have the EBC turbo groove discs fitted which I was hoping would improve the brake fade but there doesn't appear to be much improvement and a lot of noise when pads meet discs. I think the 4 pot calipers might well be a good idea. Our biggest problem with the S2 is the limited size of disc we can use due to the 14" wheels. If you do go for the new calipers, please let us know how you get on!
