hole groove main bearings

ive got an 907 engine spec 5 from an lotus eclat (probably)

as my workshop manual says i need holes and grooves in all mein bearrubngs (lower and upper)

the bearrings taht were in the car were completly different.

lower : plane

upper : hole & groove

in the lower engien block part (crank holder) are no oil holes for the new bearings....

is this normal and ok? or do i have a "wrong" lower engine block part maybe from an lotus esprit turbo 910 engine ?

From the fact the carrier has no holes, the bearings you have seem to be the correct type.

Check you have a cross drilled crank (i.e it has an oil feed on opposite sides of each main bearing journal. This is what determines whether you should have plain or grooved bearings.

in which case your upper and lower shells must be grooved
