Hello fellow Esprit owners!

I have a 78 S2 and am trying to remove the left side lower rocker panel in order to gain access to the backing plate for the emergency brake lever. Does this require removal of the fuel tank? What type of sealant should be used when i reinstall it? Are there any other rivets or fasteners that are not obvious that I need to get to?
