1984 Turbo Wing Mirrors.

Does anybody know which car Lotus pinched it's wing mirrors from?

I'm sure I read somewhere that they were "borrowed" from another manufacturers parts bin when the S2 came out.

I need to replace the whole plastic casing on my '84 MY Turbo as some inconsidered person has used one for Kung Fu practice.

Any help would be appreciated.

Someone on Yahoo said they used the same ones on Taxis... so the taxi graveyard MAY be a potential source?
