Update on 007

I've just about completed the front end re-bush (parts sourced from SJ's)

It should change the feel of the front end and make it feel like a new lotus.

I'm hoping to have it ready for this weekend as Motoclassica is on at the Melbourne Exhibition building and I want to drive there in the Essex.

I just purchased a CNC ported head from Gary Kemp in the UK so my money is being spread thin between the following priorities (in order of priority)

Essex, Aston Martin X-Pack (still at the paint shop and costing me a bloody fortune), Jensen Healey (with dry sumped 907 race engine ,soon to have cnc head fitted!) oh and of course the wife and baby!

To be honest I should be selling all my cars and keeping the essex.....but then I have the jensen and the Aston and the Aston seats 4!

Great car to own .Must be honest and say i also love Jensen Healeys .....Both British cars and both very rare,,,,,,

I went to the Ken Wallis (Autogiro)memorial a few weeks ago.  Lot of cars showed up. There was a Jensen Healey estate.  Could post picture if you want

22 year old Ads. To compare a bit of price appreciation over 22 years - just found 1992 Autotrader (so don't bother phoning lol) with 2 Essex in. Hope they are still around. :)

Not sure what number the first one was but according to my records No.23 was destroyed by fire in November 2012

Oh not again - ok......allow me! Has this one got any connection to the Bond film?:sofa:

Great to see it back in the U.K. Mark - are you going to be restoring this one too then? In fairness it already looks good - better than when it was last in the U.K.?

Jeez oh Mark you certainly find these early Turbo's - I'm glad I don't work at your place, as I'd never get anything done for drooling over all your treasures.......

Are you going to be selling the Essex?

Sweet Jesus, only 5k miles?!! Looks immaculate in the photos.

Good grief whatever did it cost?

Great that it's back in the UK. Wow.

Wow thats a special car. I echo what Barry said you jammy whatnot. Good to see its back in the UK.

No unfortunately its gone round the clock and done 105,000 miles but still looks okay for it, the engine was rebuilt by Lakeside Engineering a while back  .

I have no plans to sell it yet .

Looking in far better shape than when she left too.

Congratulations Mark.

It's great that we can keep the thread going too..

Interior and engine bay look nothing like 105k miles. At least that helped with the price negotiations!

Gorgeous thing. Great to have another one back over here.

Definately a nice find Mark. That was Roy Bryants car some 10 years back. Sold for £10k in 2009 - Restored and on ebay for 16k in 2010 then shipped to Australia in 11/2010.

Glad to see it back :)

Part of me is happy that this Essex is back home; but a big part of me is not happy that I won't see this car on the streets of Melbourne again! I'm not sure that I can adequately describe my feelings upon seeing this sparkling blue wedge flash by in the full Australian sun ... sniff!
