Brake Upgrade Kit

For those with stopping based wishes and dreams I am working on a full kit for the Esprit. Take the Sport350/2002+ Esprit AP Racing calipers, they're your rears with bigger AP Racing 6 piston calipers up front. The discs will be bells and rotors by AP Racing again and will be available either floating or fixed. This will be suitable for all later Esprits and will be a marked improvement over the current setup plus will mean that replacement rotors are closer to £600 than £1,800 :)

Sounds good? Watch this space

I'm sure you're expecting this but have you considered doing something similar with the front Brembo caliper? This would benefit the earlier V8s and the later 4-pots. The Brembo caliper can be made to fit 32mm thickness discs (same as the AP caliper) with a bit of filing - this is what the PNM upgrade does. Or since you're using off the shelf AP discs you should be able to get a 28mm disc of the same diameter. All you would need is a different bracket for the caliper and perhaps a different bell for the disc?

Clarkson: Why?

May: Cause it's the tool of a pikey.

Simon, the rear caliper bracket is a twin bracket allowing fitment of the supplied hi-spec handbrake caliper.

Neal, we can no doubt supply a bell/rotor for Brembo braked cars, that's another project. This one is likely to end up looking like this...

Fronts:

1 x pr 6 Pot Calipers

1 x pr 343 x 32mm Discs

2 x Mounting Bells

2 x Caliper Brackets

2 x 12 Bolt Kits

An assortment of pad options available.

Caliper to Bracket Bolts supplied as standard

Rears:

1 x pr 4 Pot Calipers

1 x pr 330 x 28mm Discs

2 x Mounting Bells

2 x Caliper Bracket (twin, to mounthandbrake caliper as well)

2 x 12 Bolt Kits

2 x Hi Spec Handbrake Calipers

An assortment of pad options available.

Caliper to Bracket Bolts supplied as standard

All AP stuff for < 1000#? Really? That would be stellar... it's too late for me, but I'm jealous.

I think the entire setup will be just over £3k but that is tbc.

PS To give you a clue as to the value, there's a chap on LEW selling the calipers we'll be using on the rear, 2nd hand for £1,600!

Hey Bibs,

Could I use this type of set up for a pre-brembo S4?

Or could there be maybe an adapter kit made so that pre-brembo cars could have this option...I know I would be in for one!

Take care,

Jason

Converting a Pre-Brembo car to the later standard is a couple hundred dollar set if hubs. No biggie when we're talking BBK money, right?
