East Malling community day

Laura

Recommended Posts

There is going to be a local community day in our area and as I work quite closely with the organisers I've been asked if we could display a few cars.

Anyone fancy a day down in sunny Kent? I'm sure we could tie in an evening of fun and drinking for anyone that fancies it. Please let me know if you can make it.

Oops typo in the original thread title, this is Aug 28th, bank hol weekend so I'm starting again... no threats or a long list of people who can't come this time please

3 & 4 - Pilko & Louise

2 Esprit and an Elise, we're very grateful to Lord and Lady Pilko who are making the journey to help us out. Anyone else fancy getting of their asses or will you be sitting in the garage wondering what the big plastic thing with the wheels is for?

It's plastic !? No-one told me that !!! :veryangry:

Kinda event I'd love to take the bloody GT2 along to, can't do jack shit on it until that lathe gets here...no steering column puts a dent on driving it.

I have both the pods off the red one atm (ooooh sounds painful) and again I am awaiting my machine tools to get here to make the alterations to it - sadly I was told it would be here last week and yet again a supplier has let me down and they now think it's going to be later half of next week.

I'm at their mercy - if it's here and I can do the 5 second job I need to do and repair the rod end I'll be sure to bring reddy along.

The GTi works..... :tumbleweed:

Clearly ok for the piss up afterwards though :D

Sorry Laura for the 'cant make it' bit....

Thanks Mike, the event goes on until 2pm so not too late but we'll probably have to wait until maybe half past before we can start moving cars around. PM me if you need our address, contact details etc

Just a quick note to thank everyone who came along, yes, all of you and it's been a great weekend, really good fun :)

One of the highlight wasn't just the show, or even the marrow but was a trip afterwards to St Marys Bay and Dungeness. Strange places.

Just like to echo my thanks to Mike, Cliff, Caroline, Graham & Louise for helping out and putting on a lovely show. Even if nobody turned up to see it!

Had a great Friday night as well with some great company & a lovely afternoon at the beach as well on Saturday.

Good work out for Lionel following its fettling at Watford Exotics. And good to smile at everyone if only for a minute. Sorry to miss Mike and sorry if I kept you all there longer than intended by my late entry - daft idea trying to meet up, I should have just aborted. As expected I didn't make it back into London by 6 so F went home on the train and I had a blast back on my own in the car. Funnily enough I beat the train back to Somerset......er, by half an hour or so! So its quite quick then

Loving Lionel and Eleanor......missing Charlie and Sonny

I've just found a fly in my fleece and it was quite distracting driving back along the M25 with greasy mark in my eyeline on the windscreen. Bloomin' kids...! :hrhr:

It was a lovely, gentle weekend. Just what was needed. Even the prize winning dog enjoyed it. Thanks for inviting us and being top hosts again. :D

thanks to our wonderful hosts a great weekend. We had a lovely time, this started with walk to a 15th Century pub Friday night with the six of us sitting down to some excellent food and beer  . Early start in the morning for the show which gave a excuse to polish the car and do some tinkering. In the afternoon we hooned down to to St Marys Bay with a walk along the beach and rounded off with some yummy Chessy chips although the flies did seem to improve the flavor .

Took the longer route back along the A259 and A27 through Rye, Hastings, Polgate and Brighton before heading north up the A23 which beats the boring motorway any day of the week.

Thanks to everyone again for such a great time.

Bibs - and thanks for the lucky shirt. In lucky I mean that apart from adjustment to my headlights the car passed its MOT today. JUst need to remember that the turbo needs spooling from time to time.i
