Letsla linkage question

Has anyone successfully fitted the letsla gear linkage to their car, using the new Lotus Motorsport cables? Struggling to get the cables to fit at the moment, so have had to go back to the original cables to ensure the car is ready to take to Le Mans next weekend. Any thoughts or experiences that might help?

TIA :)

Efited for poor spelling ;)

Thats really odd - looking at a before and after the position of the cables is pretty much exactly the same.

Thinking about it some more this must be true as I don't think the cables use their own mounting bracket (they'd reuse the cheap gold coloured pressed metal one)

Be interested to see any pictures from it.

What position are you setting the gearbox throw to be ?

Cars is pretty much back together now so only have the two pics at the shift ever end that I've bunged on seloc. It's on the second shortest position - the shortest just felt too short for me - trouble is until I can start it up and get out and drive it which will be tomorrow it's so difficult to tell.

Much more precise change Paul. I picked it up this afternoon with the niggles sorted and it feels much nicer. A shorter throw and more solid feel altogether - much less of the sloppiness which I have always hated in the Toyota change.

Cost wise it was £220.00 to buy (one of the guys on seloc did a group buy and got a bit of discount), plus delivery and a bit of vat - no idea on the fitting costs yet - Phil at B&C was run off his feet this week, so I'll find out next week.

Yep - I've been singing the praises for about a year now. Never missed or crunched a gear and you can actually feel the workings inside the gearbox as the linkage is that good.

It's a great bit of kit and highlights how shocking the stock linkage is. No matter what is said that the stock linkage can be made to work you can't compare proper bearings with sloppy rods and r clips.

I have mine set as it comes which is a shorter throw than standard but not the shortest.

To fit on the 211 you only need the access provided by the engine cover (no need to remove undertray or even jack the car). The only parts you need to remove to make it easier are the passenger side supercharger steel pipe and the bracket holding the coolant resevoir to the chassis. Everything else can be done with normal tools and if you have it all planned shouldn't take more than a couple hours. It took me 4 the first time but I was being extra pedantic as wanted to get it spot on.

I have the Letsla Kit and the cables supplied by Simply Sport Australia SSC Gear Cables.

The Letsla is a big improvement , but the new cables enhance it even further.

The cables were very easy to fit , with excellent instructions supplied.

Have recently fitted firmer Engine mounts 85A Grey Innovative as yet untried , but hope to be back at the track , weather permitting, in the next couple of weeks

and will report back if it has changed the gearshift feel .
