If any one is watching this....

don't get too excited by the vendors reference to the "engine going through Lotus" because it has Lotus on the rockers....

The engine code shows it to be a Rover V8 from a P6 which predates the registration of the car by a few years. If there was any factory involvement at all, they wouldn't be using a second hand engine when they built it.

I could make rocker covers like that for mine. The jiggly stamped chassis plate also suggests this is a home built V8 conversion (and there is nothing wrong with that). But any inference that this is a factory car or built by a Lotus garage is probably complete loblocks.

What it could be is a Spyder donnington conversion kit. In which case it is definately worth having, but I couldn't be bothered driving round to Harlow when it was listed last week to check it out as I have no room for any more cars.

Nice colour. Great project car for somone if the chassis is sound. NB I'd guess the box is also sourced from a rover P6 if it is a 4 speed.
