"Following the lead set by golf and tennis, the new Grand Prix Masters series

boasts a star-studded line-up of past champions recreating their halcyon glory

days. The inaugural race was staged in South Africa at the tail-end of last year.

The big name turn-out exceeded everyone's wildest expectations; the headline

grabbing event was a huge hit with a sell-out crowd and really caught the public's

imagination.

The equal performance of the 600bhp single-seater cars allowed the sporting

legends to race competitively, fiercely and extremely closely as they put on a

spell-binding show. Nigel Mansell finally came out on top, finishing less than half

a second ahead of Emerson Fittipaldi, with another famous ex-F1 ace Ricardo

Patrese finishing a close third. Now Silverstone turns back the clock as it gears up

to host the UK first-ever Grand Prix Masters showcase."
