Instrument binnacle removal for 78 S2

Hi Folks

Umm, spent sometime searching the manual I have and the forum and I cant find out how to remove the Instrument binnacle on my car. I can see a 10mm nut at the middle underneath of the unit just above the stearing wheel but the manual tells me to remove screws etc that are just not there. Im not sure I have the correct manual and I also dont know which panel I have. Both my speedo and tacho dont function and I know that one is mechanical and the other electrical. I could really do with sorting this out as I dont want to break the 30 limits that are all around here with cameras. Can anyone give me an idea of what to do and is there any way I can find out how to test without taking the whole thing to bits?

Really need your help guys as im not exactly car friendly.

Hi

Have no idea how similar the binnacles are, but i

have a guide here for removing the binnacle on my SE.

on the later cars ('90 on) the cowling came off to allow

access to the instruments. On my SE and the earlier cars,

you have to remove the whole binnacle and access the

instruments from the underside...
