i have got a new genuine cam belt i went to change it and the tension bearing is not good i have ordered a new one how do you tension it correctly, i have done the hc engine without any blow ups but never done a semi auto spring loaded type.

looking forward to see some of you at donnington i will be in the elan 100 andy b

Once you've fitted the belt and let the tensioner take up the slack, you adjust the spring tension with the locknut and screw at the top of the tensioner. Best to have the alternator out of the way.

ok but how tight do you have the belt how much do you put on the spring tension adjuster. andy b

THANKS I HAVE BORROWED A GUAGE , AND FITTED THE NEW BELT QUITE A JOB FORTUNATELY MY MATE WAS HERE TO HELP ONE ON TOP ONE BELOW. ANDY B
