Hi folks

Can i ask if the cam timing is out by one tooth is this going to cause a problem?

I.E valves touching, misfire etc? or will it get away with it,but of course needs sorting ASAP

The pump lines up perfect, but the cams are one tooth out.

P.S this is not on my car!

Not had the experience myself but I believe the engine will sound a lot like a diesel if it has jumped a tooth or two. If it has already jumped one tooth it may do it again, so I would park it and investigate About three teeth is maximum without causing damage. if the belt is due a change do it and replace the tensioner bearing.

Good luck.

Mine had the exhaust timing out by two cogs. You get a great deal of induction noise, about 70bhp, and high hydrocarbon output. It can run OK, just no guts.

My car was just so WOW once I got it fixed.

Most timing errors will scrap the engine.
