I am in the process of replacing the radiator on my 86/87 Esprit Turbo HC and would like to take the opportunity of also upgrading the hoses.

Is anybody aware if anybody markets a silicone hose kit for this model please. Other than the alleged set originating in China on ebay I have been unable to find a supplier in the UK.

One option is to make it up out of standard components and introduce some extra aluminium straight sections as there don't seem to be too many "shaped" hoses.

Alternatively if there is enough serious interest to finance the tooling, it would be possible to get one of the manufacturers on board to make these.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

I got a set of the Chinese Ebay hoses, made by "Autobahn88" and I have to say that they are OK, a couple needed to be 'modified' a bit to fit but on the whole I'm happy with them. it's not a 100% full set though, just the main 8 large hoses.

Sorted mine out if bits and bibs...

If I did it again I'd get the eBay ones, they work out cheaper and neater.

There's a silicone hose company not 5 mins drive from my house, spoke with them and not interested due to the small number required.

I don't know about the hoses up front by the radiator, but JAE in USA have a good set of silicone hoses for the ones around the engine. I'm in the process of installing those right now and they seem pretty tough.

The silicone bits with Al tubing idea seems OK too.

Guys,

Thanks for feedback.

I also mailed all of the UK manufacturers I could find on Google and the two who showed some interest wanted a minimum order of 10 or 20 sets.

If there was enough serious interest with money up front it would be possible to finance the tooling. Otherwise I shall pursue the alternatives.

Good luck with the upgrade!
