Yes, but I think that is the original one? I'm looking for the uprated stainless steel cable. Found a source in Australia, but they are out of them...

When fitting new cables clutch/throttle etc it's always a good idea to squirt plenty of WD40 inside the sleeves.

It makes for a nice smoothe travel, and helps prevent wear and seizing.

Especially for cars that aren't used daily.

WD40 is very thin and ideally you'd want a lubricant that stays in place, there are things called cable oilers/ greasers which do a great job.

I think the 'thin-ness' of WD40 is one of the reasons it works so well. Once the propellant dries, it retains a protective film. I have found that oils and greases gum up especially as they become impregnated with road grit etc.

I've used it for years on all cars' handbrake, cltuch and throttle cables - seems to work well.

The new clutch cable has a teflon inner liner. Any petroleum based lubricant is contraproductive. Clutch is fine now, brakes let go, though... rear wheel cylinder. Argh!
