Chaps,

Apologies for the intrusion from the Eclat and Elite section.

I believe the S1 & S2 esprit uses the same rear UJ's in the driveshafts as the elite and eclat?

I posted this for discussion on the elite and eclat forum, but figured we can also get good input from the US based esprit owners.

"The bad news is that it seems the better quality joints (Hardy Spicer HS163) are no longer available. A lighter duty hardy spicer joint is still available, but its not as good as the original joint (shorter rollers). I've already spoken to SJ who were listing HS163's, but they are out of stock and can't source replacements. So I started looking at other manufacturers.

There is an old thread on here that suggests there might be equivalent heavy duty joints available from Dana or Neapro in the US, with Neapro being mentioned as the hot ticket. Neapro do a standard joint, and a stronger one called the "Brute Force".

I'm not sure if Neapro are distributed in the UK (think they are for the front of old pre CV joint Wranglers and other American propshafts?)

Can some of our US members advise if the 1-0153BF Neapro joint will fit in our yokes and shafts? Has anybody used them in the US? Are they as good as they are cracked up to be?

I might cross post into the Esprit section as I have a feeling the S1 & S2 use the same joints?

I'll happily pay carriage and import duty on these if they are really that strong as I think the generic lighter duty joints will get destroyed pretty quickly on my car.

Over to the US guys....

D "
