Help please,

Because of limited garage space it would be virtually impossible to jack up the car and remove the wheels ( i.e. for refurb) so the only way I can think of to do this is remove wheels out side put on temporary wheels and then drive the car back into the garage.

What wheels would fit? And what bolts would I need?

Ideally I would want to go and get a couple of wheels from a scrap yard as cheaply as possible.

car is V8 sport 350

Could you borrow a couple of space savers? I've got a feeling the Lotus wheels are a weird fitment...

Clarkson: Why?

May: Cause it's the tool of a pikey.

The main problem is that we've got huge 325mm(ish) front discs ... a 15" wheel just won't swallow these .. I would've thought you'd need 17" wheels for the clearance although may get away with 16's.

Someone asked this exact same question at that

Club Lotus 'Team Esprit' Launch at stoneleigh...

The reply was to cut discs out of 3/4" Marine ply and bolt

on while you get the wheels done. Am sure i was not the

only one thinking it was nuts. :)

But Graham Arnold and (who was the other guy?) accepted

it as a good idea and moved on, so maybe?

SNAP....

CRASH!!!

(That was the first and Last 'Team esprit' day.)

Problem is clearance of the ap calipers on the fronts... a space saver temporary wheel just won't fit unfortunately. If its rears, then no problem.

I had a set of mag wheels spare but sold them over the weekend to chris bensley - maybe you could ask him nicely... :)

If you managed to source something from the list above, then you could always turn the wheels back to front so that they can clear the front brakes. Take some piccys so we can see your super-wide track, though:D
