Steering Wheel hides Instruments - HELP !

I have just fitted the steering wheel in the attached picture (S330 ?). A dream and it makes the car feel great - so much better than the original fitment!

Problem is that it covers up the top third of the Rev Counter and Speedo. I don't mind about the boost gauge (US Model) as I assume that the electronics will take care of this!

If this carries on I will loose my licence - even over here in Germany.

I have removed the bolster cushion and fitted thinner seat runner washers. A slight improvement but not yet really acceptable.

Has anybody else the same problem and a solution. I have looked at the parts catalogue and it seems a difficult if not impossible jub to raise the column.

Any suggestions will be more than welcome.

Thanks in advance

Ian.

Only a couple of replies to my posting off line - thanks for the advice.

I have solved the problem by installing a slightly larger 340mm wheel from RAID which I bought from e-bay for 50

Not sure but I'd suggest you try the Calibra . The keylock and levers are the same so the spline may be as well.

Ian,

I had some custom machined aluminum adapters made to mount any Raid aribag wheel to the Esprit column. I believe a couple of owners have modified them to work with non airbag wheels also.

You can get one from Marcus at PUK if that helps.

Feel free to email me if you would like any more info.

Cheers,

Jim

Thanks for the tips Guys - I have now solved the problem. :P

I bought an off-set adapter.

This moves the wheel upwards on the boss. All the instruments can now be seen - even the boost gauge - and the off-set really does not make any difference to the feel of the steering wheel. :(
