Right then.

This is going to be the new post for me.

As some of you know Ive had a few little issues with the car in the month ive owned it. ( The Last Lotus Esprit S1 1978 ) Well in the morning I will be fitting the new engine mounts and then, well, shes all fixed, sorted, tuned, cleaned and ready for a drive.

GOOD LUCK, HOPE ALL GOES WELL

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

I think that TopGear or 5th Gear should do a program called "How far will the S1 Go)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I know exactly how you feel, I've also got an Eclat that's just as (un)/reliable :)

Maybe you should put the question to them.

Instead of getting a V8 to do 200 Miles per hour

Get an S1 to do 200 Miles :P

>>Are the V8s the same?

I hope not .. only had it a month and I'm paranoid already ... if I put it away when slightly damp I feel I have to drive it within a day or two to stop things seizing up, even if it's wet and horrible!

To be honest, I think I had the best policy with my 1990 Excel SE, I used it for the daily commute of 140 miles every day for two years, racking up 75k miles from around 55k to 130k and virtually nothing went wrong with it! In all that time I think the most expensive thing was a starter motor at

Yes you are dead right , cars need regular use or they do go bad! Problem with the Esprit is I like it too much! Wont drive it in rain, or leave it where I cant keep an eye on it. Last year only put 500km on it. I have a customer with an Acura(Honda) NSX , he drives the sh1t out of it, in winter etc nothing ever goes wrong with it( just eats rear tyres) Yet he thinks my Esprit is great! He doesnt give a damn about the NSX. It seems the more you work on these things the greater the attachment. :)
