Digital Speedo/Dash

Question

Has anyone fitted a digital speedo or dashboard to a G-car? I noticed at least one person on the board has got a nice looking DD in their Stevens/V8 (can't remember who or which car)...

If so, can anyone give me any recommendation on kit? I'm particularly interested in the speedo "sender" unit - it'll most likely be a little threaded gizmo that attaches to the speedo cable (probably around the gearbox). If I can get one of those, then I'll make most of the rest...

Cheers

Looks good jimmibondi - where did the screen come from (is it part of the whole nav computer?).

I have several GPS's (I've worked with development/simulators of GPS related equipment) so I might make something like you've got there - the thought had crossed my mind but I was going to use a PocketPC as the screen - bit small really.

If you have any other pics I'd love to see them... Where the GPS mounted - I guess there's no problem in the front bonnet(?) as the signal goes through fibreglass without any problems

Thanks for the info - I'll get looking! I'm very impressed with the setup, and at a guess you could get most of that kit for a few hundred quid. Looking forward to the pics...

If anyone is looking to eliminate the instrument binnacle, and aren't concerned about looking stock; a Stack instrument pod could be affixed in its place. They tend to be pricey, but will remove a great deal of weight. ( the binnacle is very heavy).
