What would cause a G-Car to UNDERboost?

Recommended Posts

Title pretty much says it all!

"When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked him to forgive me."

Robin these are just off the top of my head,

Restriction in intake - Turbo cant draw enough air to create boost

Leak in exaust - Turbo not being driven enough to spool up to full boost

Vacume leak in system - this would result in a loss of boost to some degree depending on degree of leak

Gauge - Not reading properly

I would lean towards either boost/vacume leak or Gauge

So does this mean your car is mobile again?

Evil one does your car have its original wastegate adapter? If your wastegate isnt stuck open, either pull off your wastegate exhaust pipe or your wastegate and look inside the cast iron adapter and check it for cracks around seating area of wastegate valve. This might be causing your prob. :)

Errr... no it's for a umm 'friend' :)

Hahaha

Nah I wish.... it's just a hypothetical question!

Everyone talks of sticky wastegates and overboost so I was wondering if there was such a cause of underboost!
