Charcoal cannister hoses

Recommended Posts

Just changed all the hoses on my cannister system right back to the filler,

they were still that rubbishy yellow stuff, all cracked and knackered...

Anyhow, the shortest pipe from the cannister to outside air, was routed back

into the quarter light void where the ECU is. I thought this must be wrong and

maybe even more likely to be a cause of fuel smell that the hoses themselves.

Anyhow, i positioned this hose below the boot floor now so it goes to outside air.

Anyone know where theirs is routed?

Am sure mine was wrong, but manuals don't show the system in situ :P

Hi Paul,

when I was doing my clutch, I noticed that the bracket securing the canister to the chassis tube was broken. I'm sure that the tube does go into the void that you mention. I suppose that if the charcoal is doing its job properly then the air exiting the cannister shouldn't small of petrol anyway (?)

I'll have a look tomorrow

Cheers

Glyn
