when does boost come in on charge cooled engine?

Recommended Posts

when should the turbo boost come in on the charge cooled gt3 engine?

it seems quite late. 4500 to 4800 rpm. is this right?

my boost gauge goes to 0.75 bar when it does kick in. is this also right?

Turbo is always there to some extent unless theres a huge hole in your pipework, but secondary injectors are in after 4500 revs if pedal is down enough and its hot enough. not sure of GT3 is exactly the same as SE/S4, but 0,75 bar seems low for max boost. 0.65 if yor are under 75% tps, 0.9 at full chat, 1.0 bar for a moment (std settings). some people have bad boost gauges on dash, mine seems spot on to a proper gauge. have you got freescan software/cable, and is the thermostat tired/wrong one, coz if it has a tired stat thats lazy and it doesnt get the coolant temp switch over 75 deg C, it wont give full boost and mine did the same, stopped at 0.65 bar. maybe CTS is suspect as well.
