Ilike to replace the steering wheel on my 1988 Esprit but I have a hard time finding

a hub adapter for a Momo,Sparco ,or any aftermarket steering wheel.Ithink $795

is way to much for a Momo steering wheel license to Lotus

I had the standard Momo two spoke steering wheel on my '88 X180 and replaced it directly with the Momo Millenium from the Sport350, no problems. What steering wheel have you got on there at the moment Oscar?

I still have the original steering wheel but now that Iknow I can purchase a Momo ,if not the Millenium ,one that matches It yhanKs I'll let you know what happens.

The original wheel is made by momo. If you take the crash pad off(held on with glue) you can remove just the wheel(not adapter or boss) with an allen key and substitute the wheel with the momo of your choice (send me old wheel if in good shape)

I could never find a boss w/ the correct spline for an 88 when I did mine. It's the black sheep of the lotus world

I did however have to drill out the old heykeys holding the wheel on, as they stripped instantly when I tried to remove them. But, a momo wheel does bolt right up to the original hub no problem.

The OEM steering wheel for the 88MY Esprit was made by Nardi Italy, not Momo. You can use a Grant Wheels hub adapter for Isuzu trucks that has matching splines. IIRC the part number is GRA4509. You then need an adapter that will convert the bolt pattern for a Grant wheel to a Momo wheel.

Also, you could use a Momo adapter 7903 which is meant for the same Isuzu vehicles, but I have never heard of anyone confirming if this will actually fit.

Of course, if you want to mount a Raid wheel, you can get a hub adapter from Jim Knowles.

The isuzu hub only works on the 89+ wheels (the ones w/ the crush-columns). I bought this hub when I went to do my 88, but it would not fit. Splines are different. I think it's the same column as the old G-bodies, as the 88 was just a g-body w/ a stevens shell on top for the most part
