I take it all back.... I've joined the MPG Club!

After 2 years of frugal 24-25 mpg, today I noticed my car was down in the 19's, even on tick over.

The car was serviced  a couple of weeks ago and had the latest engine software installed, I've not driven it much since then but I'd thought I'd have noticed it. Very odd, nothing's changed, not in Sport mode, not caning it but I've dropped about 5mpg, just been out again and it seems to be here to stay...  :ermm:

I'm thinking...

a) Software bug.

b) Finally the readout's accurate!

c) I've had the new Evora400 engine fitted for in the field testing.

Any thoughts?

I only had the car one day and noticed the display mpg isn't right. See my other post about what I saw, I'd like to know what the reset does and how it calculates because it's not how I imagined it should be

It's worth checking against the pump to see if it's a real drop or a dodgy readout.

I think it calculates a fairly short average. I've not reset mine in 9000 miles, but it can move around quite a lot if I change my driving type, but always settles back to 27 - 29 on my daily drive which is about right.

An update here, I rang B&C, they'd not heard of any other anomalies with the latest engine software and fuel consumption and suggested I keep an eye on things...

Each time I take the car on a long run the figures improve, by the end of todays 50 miles run it had peaked at 27.1 and dropped to 26.2 for the last few miles in traffic. Too good to be true? The overall fuel usage seems to be normal, I'm not filling it up and more.... or less than usual, much to the joy of my local petrol station. All a bit odd though, if I reach 30mpg I'll know something's really wrong!  :smoke:

On a good run I'm seeing 28mpg in the SR, on a normal day 22 and on a spirited run closer to 16. Better than I remember from last time!

I must always be driving spirited then.  :unworthy: But then, those 430 horses all want to be fed.

Bloody hell... a reformed character, I'm sure I heard tell of single figures Bibs style!  :smoke:

Last couple of trips have been up to 27mpg, still seems odd though, I'm keeping an eye on miles vs what's actually going in the tank, might be a pleasant surprise or confirm my suspicions!

Bumbling around Norfolkshire today got up to 32 mpg ave in the NA. That included a long blast on the A11 home after crawling from Thetford down to Mildenhall.
