i have an Elite with a 3.5 V8, as you can see from the photo the previous owners trashed the bonnet. I have a fibre glass guy who can do pretty much anything,any ideas? or has anyone done this already?

 

An earlier excel bonnet gives another couple of inches clearance as it doesn't dip down an inch at the sides of the vent grill like the one on the elite/eclat. The only problem is you need to chamfer it a bit at the leading edge as there will be a slight step at the very front.

 

other options are a bump or box on the bonnet. The best one I have seen used what looked like a mould from a Mk3 capri blended into the centre section. It looked original to the car and in my opinion looked the cats pyjamas.

 

It is on a red car on the internet ( a 503 I think) try googling for John Elite V8 and see if you can find it.

Yes i like that, might try it with the vent and the rest of the bonnet black up to the windscreen.

is that a burn in the middle? is the SE5a yours?

Hi, no its where they ditted the engine and then found out the bonnet did not shutm so thry cut a section out and fibre glassed that mole hill in,

The scimitar was one of mine, a real basket case.
