Many thanks Jack for this detailed explanation. In fact I did'nt took time to check yet. My analysis was based on (wrong) informations coming from the garage where I bought the car.
I've performed a geometry today and I get 2.4° at the rear and 2.0 at the front (all shim plates removed). But I did'nt have time to try something new at the rear so I let it like this and just changes toe settings. I will try this new setting on sunday @ Spa-Francorchamps.

Hi Matt,

I did try -1.5 camber front. That makes the brake point a lot earlier than normal on Winton. I put it back to -1 now. I think it's because the smaller front tyres.

You are right about relation between camber and braking distance. But with more camber, lateral grip should compensate.
Automotive is always a compromise story... what you earn somewhere, you lose it elsewhere.

Honnestly speaking, 1.0° of front camber is really few for track use. Moreover with racing tyres which require a minimum amount of camber to perform well.
The only way to know what's give you the best result is a decent data logger. You'll then be able to compare long and lat acceleration

Hi guys

What are the the OEM geometry setups for the V6 S, V6 Cup and V6 Cup R?

I managed to find information about all the lotus models but Exige V6

May be a good way for me to test the car is trying the Cup setting and if not enough then go for the R setting.

Thanks Jacks I appreciate your help. That document was provided to you when bought the car? Should be another similar for the Cup  (non R)?

For what kind of suspension are those settings? 3 way ohlins?

You are welcome.  Yes, the document was provided by Lotus with the car.  Standard suspension setup on the CupR is 2-way Ohlin TTX.

Not that i'm one to talk, given the image I uploaded before yours is hardly high-res, but what camber did you achieve, Jeff? Can't make it out in the photo.

lol, it is rubbish image. I'll try again

Rear left = 1.55
Rear Right = 1.56

If we comparing your alignemt with the V6 CUP is very similiarI, even more moderatein the rear axel. Is there any reason?

Do you have the Lotus settings for your CR (as Arun´s and Jack´s). It would be great to make a comparisson table like this one

Just another question guys to clear up my mind: could I -in my stock V6- set the geometries like the CUP o even the CUP R or I would need any aftermarket suspension part?

Hi Guys,

I just did some research on the forum re camber etc. setup of the Exige Club Racer. I did a couple of trackdays with the standard OEM setup and I am now at the point that this might be the next step for me ;-) Is there a "highly recommended" setup for the Club Racer on OEM dampers? ;-)

Jeff: Are you happy with your setup now on your CR? Did you adjust the standard dampers of the Club Racer or are you on Nitrons?

Thanks for your help

Norbert

Mines currently on standard dampers.

I'm happy with the set-up, but it is a compromise. At Blyton Park, which is a short twisty circuit I had a little under steer, not terrible but noticeable, where as at Donington Park, which has long sweeping turns it felt ok. Road driving feels pretty much perfect to me.

Next step for me is going to 2-way adjustable, most probably Nitron. The ohlins are expensive! I could go a little bit more aggressive on the standard suspension but then it would be really compromised!

So you are still using the settings from above? I might then just try them out as well... and then also decide later on, if I will go to 2 way Nitron etc. ...

At the moment I left everything OEM aside from the brake fluid ;-) ...

Are you still on standard break pads as well?

Cheers

Yes still on the above settings.

What I will add is that before the above settings where put on, the standard geo was checked and found to be out. (Its shows on the image I posted previously, with the red/green boxes).

I'd firstly have yours checked to see where it is at the minute.

Still on OEM disks/pads. They work great!

Thanks - that helps to understand. I think I will stick with OEM pads as well ... they have enough stopping power and before I start playing around with racing pads on the standard disks, not knowing what I am doing, this feels like the best route...

What I really don't understand is toe out in the rear wheel base. Can someone try to explain why this is used? I never saw this setting on a car.

Okay, in theory it's clear, the the rear produces a counter swing for entering the curve, but in practise I never saw this.

Frank,

Where are you seeing rear toe-out recommended for the Exige?

You can find some cars (front wheel drive), where factory settings call for 0 toe in the rear.  Track peeps running front-wheel drive cars, will typically go toe-out in the rear to help with understeer and rear rotation.

Thank you Dave, I really quarrel with toe out in front as well, is this really the settings which fits fine on the Exige?

I did a lot of trials, but never moved i that direction.
