Window chanel rubbers??

Recommended Posts

Got a fright yesterday when opening the passenger door window.....

It got approx 1/3rd of the way down and gave aout a bang that made me think that I'd been shot.

On closer inspection with the door trim off, one of the steel ball joints had come out of the nylon slider. Reason... the chanel rubber had ripped and wedged the glass on its way down.

So solution needed....

Does anyone know where Lotus got the rubber from.....

is there an alternative replacement..

I don't even know how expensive they are, but both sides look as though they need doing.

Has anyone ever replaced theirs.

Thanks in advance

  • 3 weeks later...

Well I went for the difficult route, and removed the door top.

It took about 3 hours to do, but looks great with no joins and one continuous piece. Most noticable is that the wind noise is much less.

I took photos along the way, and will have a go at doing an install guide for LEW.

I've just got the drivers side to do now........
