Tyre valve

I've got a slow leak in my drivers side rear tyre, so I took it to Kwikfit. They were very careful about the alloy wheel etc.

It was found that the leak was coming from the valve, but they couldn't replace it as it was a bolt on valve and they don't stock them.

Is a bolt on tyre valve hard to find these days?

Is it an 'art and a science' or do you just ask for a bolt on tyre valve.

Anyone know?

Most aftermarket wheel and tire stores will stock these bolt on valves. Check with one of these, you could also just have them take the bolt on one out and put a rubber one in it's place but then you'll have 3 bolt on ones and 1 rubber one!

Do you know where the leak is? It can only be one of two places, either where it seats on the inside of the rim - which is an O ring seal, or the valve itself - both easily fixable. I know that if you try and turn the nut and the whole valve body turns it can bunch the O ring inside and make them leak, and also I think the valve innards are exactly the same as in the rubber ones and just unscrew.
