Well its probably later than January 81' I think with a chassis number 1004. Mine is production number 970(and is likely among the first non Essex turbo's)  and was finished in Feb 81'. Essex chassis numbers as you may know is roughly from 899 -950 made mainly in 1980. Of course this is what I am aware but happy to hear others chip in.

Hi Alex,

I own also #951. that car was the first normal esprit Turbo because the essex cars ar build untill0 #950,

my car also has the Essex Owners manual, (the essex colours) and has all essex options, (only not the Cam covers)

Very nice Tocus. When was yours made then? As you may know mine was effectively somewhat of a prototype as it was the only one made with power assisted steering amongst other modifications for Colin Chapman. Although it doesn't have the Compomotives(which although perhaps looked nice-were somewhat fragile and proved to be problematic in the long run-something Chapman was aware of) it does have the panasonic roof and is pretty much Essex spec otherwise.

My chassis number tells a A inside the chassis number, and i know its build end 80. (see last picture)

(Nov. / Dec.) and i also know the last Essex car that is made is 950 and i have 951.

so it should have been the first one ever made!

and yess it has the panasonic, all essex options, only not the cam covers,

On my Silver car 50,000 miles (it looks as 10.000 miles!!!) and the bleu real essex car LHD. has 10.500 miles, but the silver car looks better,

maby i will sell the silver car into the future, if there is a real essex/esprit lover out there how wants to buy it, its a very very nice good car!
