Barry, might be time for this, and a regroup before you go completely banzai, eh?

If it's any consolation, me and 'er indoors (probably should read 'er in the garage') are still on that poxy window carpet.:realmad:

It's now all in pieces - rear wheel bearings a bit grumbly - inner seal looks split - so add one of them to the list of parts required. Can't read the part numbers off the bearing - anyone know @swindon_alan??

And the alan bolts which hold the hub onto the rear upright were a total bstard to get off. Heat didn't help at all - two pairs of hands - one with a bar on an alan key under lots of tension - hammer and chisel to free them round. How those are £2.50 each plus vat at sj God only knows.....

will sit and figure out a shopping list - but guessing it's not gonna be short

The wheel bearing is a standard one for Renault fronts, therefore not expensive.  Can't remember the reference but a factor will match the old one.

Be careful not to buy the really cheap ones - made in China with dubious tolerances and life expectancy. QH are good.

My caphead screws in the hubs were complete bastards to undo, like yours. And one side required a 5mm socket, the other was 6mm. Good old Lotus, eh?

Those rear wheel bearings will need a big torque wrench on them.

I somewhat doubt it - but it probably explains why one side has polybushes and the other side doesn't...... I reckon they bust the one and then abandoned the whole idea.

thanks garage monkey at the specialist

I feel there's a p£ss take hiding there somewhere.......

anyway - to all you doubting Thomas's- whom should have replaced chassis pipes and oil seals when they had the chance....... all parts in stock - and on way to me from sj.

word of warning to anyone - do not break the NS hub - he hasn't got them..
