The following event is being organised by me on the playground and cross posted with permission to open up to members here.

ps - derestricted really means that - just keep it safe, these are public roads, nice to be doing 100mph and just get a thumbs up when passing a police car!! 

It's that time of year again, either we book now or find ourselves struggling to get accommodation.

This is our 6th trip to the island and the format will be similar to previous years. 

Should you wish to participate (no obligation) there will be some organised activities to make the most of the fantastic roads, great scenery and interesting heritage plus plenty of time to go exploring on your own, .

Whilst the Mannin did us proud this year we will be back at the Ramsey Park Hotel next year.

Dates are Friday 6th July to Tuesday 10th July. We'll be there for four nights including a weekend. 

The ferries run from Liverpool (Fast Cat) or Heysham (slow) and either option is available. Most of us usually get the Liverpool crossing. 

It's possible to vary the dates if you want to arrive earlier or stay longer.

Provisional Ferry Times are:
6th from Liv - 11.15, arriving c2pm or Heysham 2.45pm arriving 6.15
10th to Liv 3.00, arriving 6.30 or Hey 8.45am arriving 12.15

It will be £674 for a car of 2 when sharing a room or £618 for singles. This includes return ferry crossing, 4 nights room & breakfast and associated taxes. Excludes other meals, insurances and any accommodation near Liverpool/Heysham.

Many of us stay over near Liverpool the night before, usually the Alicia, unless there is a concert on in Sefton Park (this is not included in the price):

If you are interested please sign up on the Event. We have a block allocation of rooms and you will need to pay a £50 deposit per person direct to the IOM Steam Packet Company by 30th November.

For the moment we're limiting this to Lotuses and max 10 rooms/cars as this is the extent of hotel accommodation we can secure currently (11 spaces here as one couple don't require lodgings).

There will be a reserve list and I am happy to try and organise additional rooms etc if there is a demand.

Outline itinerary as follows:

Friday - taking 'Fast Cat' ferry from Liverpool to Douglas (2 1/2 hour crossing). Quick dash over the mountain to Check in, followed by a lap of the TT course stopping off at some famous spots for photos.

Saturday, Sunday & Monday plus Tuesday morning taking in some of the fantastic de-restricted driving roads, scenery, tea shops, restaurants etc & generally having a good time. Saturday will include a treasure hunt to help people get to know the Island and other participants.

There is likely to be a group meal each night (subject to demand), you are welcome to join us, or not. Hopefully we can twist Harry's arm into organising some go-karting again as well.

Tuesday - return Fast Cat/ferry at then home.

Note that you can mix routes, for example going out from Heysham and coming back to Liverpool.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company will be briefed on our trip & will coordinate smooth loading of our cars on & off the ferries. They really do take extra care with loading the Lotuses.

If you have not experienced the Island before you are in for a superb 'weekend away' enjoying the Lotuses in their natural environment.
